Elder James explains that sanctification is to set apart for a Holy purpose. There is a Holy sanctification where God the Father sanctified us in election, Jesus Christ sanctified us in the redemption, and the Holy Ghost sanctified us when we were born again. But in 1 Peter 3:15, it is talking about a sanctification of ourselves. Elder James explains to set ourselves apart for a Holy purpose is not easy because of the two natures we have waring within us. He teaches baptism is the first step, followed by things like prayer, reading the scriptures, church attendance, and giving. But despite our failures, Elder James reminds us that God’s sanctification never changes.
